Three-in-One (oops)

June 2026

Celia Winter

I'm late, dear readers, with some updates.

Those updates are specifically:

  • On May 28, Manawaker Studio's Flash Fiction Podcast released a recording of my sad tooth fairy flash piece "A Million Pennies for Hope." You can find it on Spotify, or your favorite podcasting platform.
  • As of June 1, Tea or Coffee, Stars, and Gravity, featuring "The Worst Stardrive in Paradise", is out in the world! Here is a picture of my author copy which arrived last month. Don't you want one for yourself?
  • As of today (the third, the youngest, the straw that broke the camel's back and yielded a response of "Celia, you really should send your newsletter"), my flash piece "Long Live the Patriarch" is available on web and in audio (recorded by yours truly this time!) from Zoetic Press' 4LPH4NUM3R1C2.0 Podcast.

I hope you check out all three of these stories, which pack a punch at under 1,000 words a piece!

If there's one thing that the past few months have shown me, it's that I'm...surprisingly bad, actually, at navigating good news. Both that it happens, and that it happens to me. I both can't remember who I have told what, and also feel this excruciating fear, deep down in my soul, that I'm showing off too much and no one cares and just wish that I'd shut up. Maybe that's why I waited until there were three stories to share an update on; maybe it's that I should be nicer to myself and the past few weeks have been a lot at the Day Job with a project launch.

Even as I type this, though, there's a part of me that's going "you should have waited until later in June, when your next story will be coming out and then you could—" and I have to shut it up and remind it that it's ok for me to talk discreetly about a single flash fiction piece if I want to. That in this world where we're all just trying to let our voices be heard, it's ok for me to share fun updates in a place where people signed up to hear my fun updates.

Anyway, thanks for having signed up to listen to me hype myself eternally. I'm grateful for all of you!
