Amandine finding Will in Time. Art commissioned from Robyn.
Last summer, Flame Tree Press put out a call for a time themed Romantasy anthology. Two weeks later, this story had poured itself out of me—the tale of a wind witch who travels through time to determine what happened to the man she has fallen in love with. It was a dream to write, my characters unfurling the path ahead as they took each step. No forcing or wrestling, or struggling to figure out what I wanted to say. Will and Amandine knew what to do, and they showed me how to tell their story.
Today, "Not Yet, Little Witch" is available in print in A Breath of Timein the UK; it will be available in the US on May 12. I'll let you know when an eBook copy is available.

And now, the quick reminder of where you can order/preorder other stories by me this year!
As my friend Bea said this morning, "TS Eliot embarrassed from beyond the grave. April the opposite of the cruelest month." This because, well, I've had an unbelievable amount of good news in the last three weeks:
My flash piece "Clementine grows into a tree" will be featured in the May edition of Plott Hound Magazine.
My flash piece "A Million Pennies for Hope" will be featured in the Manawaker Flash Fiction podcast.
My flash piece "The Worst Stardrive in Paradise" will appear in the Sci-Fi Anthology Tea or Coffee, Gravity, and the Stars from Air and Nothingness Press.
I will be recording (if I can get my microphone to behave) my flash piece "Long Live the Patriarch" for the 4LPH4NUM3R1C Flash Fiction Podcast.
And one other thing, that I can't believe happened because I certainly wasn't looking for it, but which I can't say more about just yet. What can I say, I'm superstitious when a contract isn't signed yet.
I've been blown away by so much so quickly—and as too many friends have been reminding me, April isn't over yet. Anyway, if any of you know who my fairy godmother is so I can thank her with a home-grown lavender sachet, or a cup of good tea, please let me know!
Some Reading Recommendations
One of my favorite things about being a writer is reading so many things written by people in my writing circles. Here are a few stories to check out if you're jonesing for some quicker reads!
And last but not least, my friend Bea (noted above dragging Mr. Elliot) just was offered publication on her first Novella. I had the absolute privilege of beta reading. If you're looking for grief and twisted lesbian Necromancers, please consider preordering So Beats a Hollow Heart. You won't be disappointed.

I have a lot to be grateful for this month, and I'm grateful for all of you for following me along on this journey. I hope you are surviving the spring torments (I'm talking about the pollen returning, what are you talking about??), and that you are laughing with people you love as frequently as you can.
